Royalty Training Manager will be responsible for overall management of the SeaStar Royalty Program. This position will work closely with the VP Aftermarket sales building a strong and viable training program, setting strategy for the future training, measuring and making suggestions for adjustments to the Royalty program and being the lead person in the Sierra Dealer Council.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing SeaStar Royalty budget
Direct the activities of the SeaStar Royalty technical field reps
Their training schedules
Dealer call activities
Their personal skills to keep them up to date and fresh on the latest products and procedures
Managing the SeaStar/Sierra University training program, Top Gun and Tech Tours, etc
Setting the training schedule for: dealers, VOTECH Schools/Students, Distributor sales people, Sales Reps, Regional Managers, etc.
Setting and communicating the class content/training topics/class structure
Work closely with sales and marketing in the promotion of training locations to help fill classes
Communicate with marketing on any special training/program needs/ideas,
Manage VOTECH Program:
Assist sales team in building a strong and lasting VOTECH school program by involving Royalty Tech Reps.
Teach and instruct classes on a regular schedule
Supply VOTECH class with needed tools/product/banners/etc. and utilize these facilities to do dealer training
Assist with student placement after graduation
Work with sales reps and regional managers calling on the dealers as needed when not training
Produce trip reports from each training class and dealer call
Follow up on all action items from field work and training classes
Circulate reports to key managers
After training dealer calls for both yourself and the other Tech reps
Work closely with the product managers at all SeaStar facilities reporting product opportunities, product improvements, new product ideas, etc.
Assist the sales team at key distributor and industry trade shows
Technical resources for the sales team as needed i.e. sales blitz, West Marine associate training
Sierra Dealer Advisory Council
Lead and direct this new program
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; or equivalent job experience required
10 years within Marine/OPE Industry with sales/marketing training experience preferred
Technical knowledge to speak to and work with Marine technicians, VOTEC students/instructors
Proficient in: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
Must have the ability travel as required ~40%.
Excellent Communication/Public speaking skills
Self-starter / work with minimal direct supervision
High level of integrity
Good organizational skills
Good planning skills
Lead and direct the new Sierra Dealer Advisory Council
Able to manage direct reports in remote locations
Strong team building skills
