TESS is an industry leader servicing the Mega Yacht Industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to support, maintain, and troubleshoot computer-controlled and automated systems within the marine environment. This role is critical to reducing manual intervention, increasing system reliability, and maximizing operational efficiency across vessel platforms.
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position offering a flexible schedule, competitive benefits, health insurance, and paid vacation time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, install, configure, and support marine electrical control and automation systems
Program, commission, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation platforms
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control, and automation system issues
Maintain and repair electrical equipment used in marine automation applications
Conduct electrical safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable marine, port, and regulatory standards
Support automation upgrades, system optimizations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to deliver reliable automation solutions
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Automation Systems, or a related field required
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in automation, electrical systems, or marine environments required
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a desk and on a computer
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
Ability to work in marine, shipyard, and onboard vessel environments
